A solar water heater system consists of a panel and a water storage tank which are usually mounted on a rooftop. Water flowing through the panel is heated by the sun and stored in the insulated tank, ready for use. A solar water heater will provide hot water for home use. During warmer months, a solar water heater may provide all hot water, without the need for gas heating, but in winter, some gas may still be required to satisfy a home’s hot water demands.
